bad_uncle uh huh, riiight. anyways, thank you and I wish you the best at your endeavors as well.
this is your work back in january 2020 before you bought maxAda and assets from 3DScanStore and were relying on daz3d
perfect dark zero from 2005
a wip of mine back in june 2019 using a basemesh i sculpted from a sphere, with my own retopology and uv’s
the same wip but a week earlier testing color using what i painted in zbrush (may 2019):
you have how many years in the industry?
i have none.
i also dropped out of university studying accounting and IT; completely unrelated
need i say more?
--it's the difference between buying a suit from target, vs getting one bespoke.
and the ears and xgenHair of mine was still sh*tty, and i couldve made the pores more pronounced, and the eyes are obviously creepy, and the coloring and SSS could be a lot better, but still
one has more depth... and obviously it's mine
IMO the care for something comes through
i know that when i finally get to telling my stories, mine will be better than yours
are there people better than me? absolutely.
but are YOU better than me? no.
and i’m not even good yet.
it would never cross my mind to tell someone more talented than myself what to do and to hold them back and tell them to be more realistic.
what i do instead is: be humble, know my place and keep my mouth shut, and learn if i can.
anyways...
can you imagine telling the founders of Ziva... or the studios who have their own in-house simulation solutions...
"Hey guys, blendshapes and skinning is good enough! simulations AREN'T EVEN REQUIRED!"
"Hey man, who cares about faster internet, we got f*cking dial-up!"
"Hey man, who needs plumbing, we can just piss on the street"
what’s the point of making a film if yours isn’t gonna be any good? Rhetorical. At least dream about making one THAT IS GOOD instead of just wanting to complete ‘A’ film.
I would emulate all the great directors who started off making shorts with sh*tty cameras and worked their way up.
Have you not taken the time to research the greats?
You might want to take some time off all this 3D stuff and do so.
Look at Tim Miller. He only did Deadpool and Terminator AFTER he did all the little tv ad commercials and videogame cinematics and misc projects. They were PRACTICE
It’s realistic to make a 2 hour film, sure. Anyone can rent a $5000+ camera and tripod and point it at a toilet for 2 hours and call it a movie. But jumping straight into making one expecting it to be any good—is not.
It would be like bench pressing 50 pounds and then expecting to do 500, let alone 1000.
Any great endeavor takes time. You seem to just want to shortcut the whole process based off of everything I’ve seen of yours.
Personally, I would rather make a 5 minute AMAZING clip, let alone a bunch of them, than a 2 hour POS. But that’s just me.
Everyone who isn’t delusional knows that you can have the best talent and equipment in the world at your disposal, but if you suck—you suck.
And if you’re delusional, you’re f*cked.
Anyways, you’re welcome.
