kishchris thank you very much for the detailed response!
implemented changes and ran some tests all afternoon
as long as i can get a preliminary of that upwards pre-flop at 0:04 i should be able to play with the shapes, etc. and finetune the rest
This will be a very tedious task if you try it on whole torso skin Fat. Though you can divide the torso skin into different parts and later stitch them together in the final cache. Which would be a big hassle to maintain, IMO.
if you mean stitch as in stitch manually via modeling/component-bridging, or something like that, then yeah that sounds awful D:
for me it wasn't that tedious personally. i just tested materials+materialMaps on a small section of the volumeMesh over and over and over again until i stumbled on a combo that was solid enough; then i repainted those maps onto the WHOLE volumeMesh, before making any attachments, so it's not slow; and saved the weights into a script. all my attachments and weightings are all scripted, and i made it modular
nonetheless, i'm going to continue with the dedicated tissue (fat pad) method and see if i like it / suits my needs
thank you!
also in this series of references below: iunno if it's just her breast shape/size/age (age/firmness), or the angle of her pose / range of her shoulder/arm motion, the camera... but her breast seems to stay the same / is extremely subtle
whereas in Proko's Models-In-Motion series with Laura and Mallory; they both seem to have smaller cup sizes, and deform differently. not to mention Mallory is wearing a bra, and Laura is a bit older and so her age affects her firmness, so i don't think it's necessarily appropriate to use her as a template for my model
and i don't necessarily trust drawings since they're just artists' interpretations, which may not translate 1to1 to real-life or simulate well (but this gets into style and what to emphasize for cinematic effect, etc.......... but also i've had to stray away from many references because they didn't simulate well); and i'm also not aware if he has a background in sculpting+rigging+animation+simulations (but i do know that he hired SOMEONE ELSE to make those 3d models he uses in his videos.... and i believe that person doesn't use Ziva, or is aware of it [so I don't even know how often that person utilized blendshapes, which can be misleading], so i haven't yet seen Proko do anything close to this--correct me if i'm wrong--and even a stationary sculpt i will take with a grain of salt)
and then of course, to circle back, there is a wide range of bodytypes and athleticism/bodyFat% as shown below where raising of the arm doesn't seem to do anything to the breast
and so it'll be good to test and compare which method more easily handles both extremes better; maybe one day lol
