Regarding your control rigs, you will currently need to rely on a typical Maya workflow to rebuild your controls on a new character.
We have provided some tooling to help with this process, but it is not an automated solution at this time.
In the "Ziva Transfer" menu, the Harmonic warp node can also be used to reposition transforms and/or joints.
skinCluster weights can also be transferred from one mesh to another.
Both of those functions are accessible via MEL or Python, so if you have scripted the build of your control rig, you can leverage these functions to automate more of the process.
