Hello !
Just to share with you the project I'm actually working. It's a deer for the Omen short film project directed by Emilie Merpillat Monteil and modeled/sculpted by Clara Vicedomini and Mandrin Gaudez. For now I've just finish to clean the first pass of modeling (muscle and fascia) and the rig of the skeleton for ziva then I will start the muscle sim from the half of november.
And about this asset the tips I've found to help the model to have a minimum of intersection between muscles and skeleton was :
when I'm happy with my muscle anatomy I model my fasica (inner layer) directly so I can be sure everything will works on the next step. Then I extrude my fascia to get a volume and convert it as zbones. I also zPolyCombine all my skeleton and create an another zbones. After that I add a tissue in all my muscle and activate the collision on my solver and remove the gravity, add a bit of stiffness damping and put a value of 0.95 on the damping of all my zTissue.
Then I simulate a few frames to let the muscle take their place between the skeleton and the fake fat (fascia extruded) layer. I reproduce this mecanic until all my muscle stop moving.
Of course I check if they don't move too much, in that case it mean their is a too big intersection on one of them, so I clean it with my own hand 😃.
What we can do is also adding a bit of negative pressure but it hasn't work for this asset.
