Hi Andy,
The creature in question is actually the Camazotz character in the opening scenes a recent film, the studio built, but never used the muscles - so we're using it to test the pipeline. (I wasn't sure if I should say before, but the film is out there so..)
I guess my understanding is still a little weak in the latter stages, if I could clarify the process a bit, it would be really helpful.
As I understand it, the process goes something like this:
Setup and simulate muscle geometry, bake out an alembic.
Do I create the additional membrane geometries and simulate them with the muscles, or do I do this later ?
Setup and simulate the fat layer, bake out an alembic.
Does this layer fit over everything that needs dynamics?
Now, with my final bakes, I wrap my high res to them.
It would be helpful if there was perhaps a best practice, somewhat idiot proof guide to this stage.
The info is out there but it's patchy and spread out, something more definitive would be helpful.
I look forward to sharing my progress with you, soon, thanks in advance.
This is the muscle geom so far, I have built the wing membranes - This feels right to me, then the fat volume will go over the top of all of this....
