hi andy the way that i did model inner layer, i using shrink wrap in maya+ delta mush+sculpt and relax. it really not on top muscle exactly. I have a little bit room between inner layer and muscle , make sure they not intersect each other. but inner layer almost line conform fit with muscle underneath.
the way, i sim right now is muscle and fat all together. I did not separate muscle pass and fat pass.
one thing i notice, at the first 5 frames when inner layer try to wrap to muscle, muscle itself got put in by inner layer also. ( domino effect) it make me thought if i sim muscle separate, outer layer will shrink less. but i prefer sim one time to save production time.
my muscle material are around 8-12 x 103
from what i understand about fat layer if there is gap between inner and muscle, inner move because pressure, causing outer move with inner automatic right? this one make sense, i can reduce gap between inner and muscle.
but when inner got suck to muscle by pressure, muscle seem got influence and move in with inner layer a little bit too. how can we decide or tell system that these tissue stay as it is and those tissue got only influence by pressure? I am talking about pre-roll for first 10 frame that no movement on character.
if i sim muscle only , for first 5-10 frames. i like where muscle stay as it is. but when i add fat tissue. muscle seem got push by pressure from fat too.
any thought? i just want at pre-roll (5-10 frame) everything stay shape like before sim . ( too perfectionist)
by from your reply , it make me think back to fix inner layer, thank for you tip.
thana
