I wonder if there is a way, or maybe planed for future versions, to export some form of cache data to hard disk while simulating?
It would be great if we can export simulation/cache data while solving, so we can continue simulations if maya crashes.
Ziva cache fills up ram pretty fast if there is lot of attachments, or we simulate coupled layers. Even 64 gig of ram. So i usually cant use ziva cache, but export to alembic instead. That have it's own problems as well.
There would be lot of benefits if we could have offline cache files per frame, that we could load up later in new maya session. For continuing simulation and debugging as well.
Maybe there is such feature, but i am not aware of at the moment.
