Hi everyone!
Another update. This time with the fat layer.
The video shows a subdivided mesh wrapped around the fat sim cached and rendered with renderman. I wanted to see how was going to come up on a smoothed mesh but the problems seen in the simulated mesh they are still showing through.
My main issue is that I´m not able to get rid of those faceted edges and get nice rounded volumes. Mostly visible in the front legs around the triceps and elbow as you can see.
The workflow I´ve used to create the fat mesh has been to duplicate the fascia.
Send it to zbrush, zremesher, duplicate that and inflate, then project it to the skin and work a bit on the volumes, clean the mesh wherever needed etc. Then, merge those two meshes in maya a bridge them.
I made a tissue on this mesh and the a bone on the fascia bake.
Here I show you some screen shots of the settings for the materials, tets, tissue etc.
To be honest I´m quite lost with the settings, mostly I´ve meshed around with the tet size, the attachments stiffness and the poissons ratio of the material. Also added a bit of volume preservation.
In regards on the attachments, I first started with just the inside ones, but the resulted bake came with lots of inside faces coming through the outer layer, and the outer layer itself with lots of cloth like folds wich loosen the initial volume quite a lot.
Also, and I don´t know if it´s caused by the modeling the I´ve not been able to get clean results on the chest and armpit area with lots of stretching and bad volumes overall. I show you another screen shot to better illustrate the problem
Anyone could point me in the right path with the fat stuff?
Thanks in advance!!
